Another Week, No Progress

Our Ugly New Kit

Well another week has gone by and we still have no new owner, no manager, and worst of all, no weekend trip to Blackpool :-( .

There are allegedly four interested buyers, including a South African consortium, the Sultan of Oman, and a consortium headed by our former chairman Freddy Sheppard!

I never believed that the day would come when we would be willing to say with sincerity “come back Freddy all is forgiven!”

The “Data Room” is now open and the prospective owners are carrying out their due diligence and hopefully we will get an answer on our new owner by the end of this week.

In other news our £17million “Star” Striker Michael Owen is about to leave on a free. Yes this will relieve the pressure on the wage bill, which needs to be cut drastically, but the way that Owen and his entourage have gone about this has left a bad taste.

Owen has sent around a brochure to Premiership clubs trying to get them to take him, and apparently so far only Everton and Hull are interested in him. If this wasn’t bad enough, he has been openly talking about his departure from the club, at least some others who are likely on their way out are pretending that they are sad to be leaving the club.

Oh and our new Away stripe, is well, horrible, yellow and white stripes do not work. The first comment by my Sunderland supporting mates, “now you really do have a yellow streak running down your players back”.

Here is praying for better times!

Michael
